So I did step aerobics this morning and then went on a 2 1/2 hour brisk hike in the mountains with my family. Am I supposed to eat 1800 calories for dinner so I don't go into starvation mode?

don't worry as long as this isn't your day to do you will be fine. Starvation mode takes a minimum of three days to set in Im pretty sure.

you did a lot of exercise today, I would say if you are hungry you need to eat. I wouldn't wory about starvation mode. I love the being able to do things that I love, hiking, walking, running around with the kids, that burn major calories!!! I just want the weather to get a little warmer for me, I am a bit of a baby when it comes to cold! ha, have a great Monday!

  • You don't need to eat your "exercise" calories. Just make sure you eat you BMR calories. You will not go into "starvation" mode if you do not eat your exercise calories. Hope this helps.

Not at all...It would take prolonged calorie deficit for that. Are you hungry? If I burned 1,800 calories I would be starving. Heck I am starving after a 500 calories workout session.

When i do that kind of work out I eat plenty before and after the workout. Look at my food diary for tomorrow. I plan on eating 700 to 800 calories between 4am and 9am with my weight lifting around 530. I do this so I don't have so large a surplus at the end of the day.

Thanks for your help everybody. I ate about 1000 calories for dinner and a snack, and I'm pretty stuffed.
