I thought some of you would appreciate this: My husband has never had a real weight problem and is very healthy (might be related to the 50-80 miles a week he runs). He also has always been fairly supportive of what I do or eat. I've been really concentrating on exercising for the last year and half and he has been very supportive and had a huge grin Saturday when I got up at 5am to go for a run with my friends while he stayed in bed. But, he is also my enabler for poor habits, buying me chocolate if I ask, bringing me chips and the 5 boxes of girls scout cookies were all him. The last few weeks family dinners have consisted of him cooking dinner like normal for everyone, and me then preparing a separate meal for myself. Last week he bought me a new food scale that can also calculate the nutritional value of everything you measure, pretty cool. Then tonight he made dinner while I took the kids to the track for a run. He checked with me how many calories I had available for dinner then using the scale measured out a meal on my plate to those calories! And, before offering me pie he asked if I had an extra for a treat!!!

aww what a good hubby. my hubby and i are losing weight together. it really helps.
  • That is awesome, it really helps!! Mine does the same thing. He keeps containers, weighs food, and tracks ingredients that he adds to recipes. He is always checking how many cals I have left and is checking on numbers for me. He is also always willing to go workout or excercise with me. I couldnt do this without his help and encouragement. And he pretends to love to hear every little accomplishment along the way.

Yay for helpful and suportive husbands!!
  • I wish my fiance was like that.

He's the opposite. He's a big guy, and I take on his eating habits (late nights, fast food) and he gets me what I want. I've tried to get him to work out with me but he just won't do it. Says that it takes "work" and he wants to be lazy. *sigh* so I've been losing this weight all by myself!

That is so awesome ladies. My husband is supportive letting me purchase a skipping rope & weights but I really need to get him on board with the losing weight too. He could really use a little less on his plate & a little more activity. I also need to learn how to encourage him subtly. He is also my enabler not taking my weaknesses away from me & letting me buy the stuff I shouldn't. I am a big girl but it would really help if I was receiving some encouragement.:flowerforyou:
