so i need to lose weight. ive accepted that and been here for 65 days today and lost 13 pounds. not a whole lot in my opinion but it's more than i would have lost if i did this whole lifestyle change crap on my own.
ive lost my steam last week due to whatever...no excuses. ill suck it up, dig deep and kick *kitten* this week.
so i found out this weekend that a relative of mine through marriage who is severely obese recently had gastric bypass. now not to come off as a total ***** but not being one to shy away from my words - this does not sit well with me. this woman has not tried to lose weight at all on her own. she doesnt even have health insurance. christ, she doesnt even work. she tried to kill herself last year. she clearly has issues yet she goes to a doctor and suddenly has this surgery. how was it paid for i wonder. oh yeah, probably me and my taxes i forgot that for a second. maybe im wrong about that part but im pretty pissy about this news.
so im using this news as my new motivation to show her and everyone else you dont need surgery, you need your own motivation and hard work to get what you want. im the type of person who always has to work hard to get what she wants and thinks everyone else should do the same thing - or else it's just not appreciated.
maybe this should have been a blog but i didnt realize i was going to ramble when i started this.
my motivation - the people who dont want to work hard and try to change themselves themselves.

I have to agree with you I think that surgery should be for people who have tried everything possible and still can't lose weight. Someone who just sits around, doesn't lift a finger, and then the doctor says surgery makes me mad too. I am struggling here trying to lose tht first pound (I've only been here a week) and there are days I get discouraged and want to quit but I don't I keep plugging on. I guess the old saying is true....you have to work for what you want or you won't appreciate it. Good luck with your diet and keep up the good work!0

Im with you!!! annoys the crap out of me too... People that say "ive tried losing weight" but all they have really done is "think about losing weight". They automatically thing they have tried so so hard when each time all they have really done is a half hearted attempt. Now dont get me wrong-- I know there are some people that have tried very very hard to lose weight through self control and moderation, but the people I specifically know are not that way! Vent!!
Great idea for motivation!!0 -
i agree with you on the fact that there are, indeed, many people who have tried and that's their last resort. im fully capable of having compassion...i just am sick of this person just feeling entitled to everything so i had to do a mini vent0

I think that using this as your new motivation is the most productive way possible to deal with the annoyance!

I think your motivation should be a positive one rather than something that makes you annoyed. It should focus on you...not what someone else did. That is her journey (and while I don't like those surgeries either) and she will live with the end result. One of my cyber friends had this surgery done and is brutally ill. Can't eat more than a few bites without getting violently ill. Can't eat protein. and lost so fast that she has tons of saggy skin.
Use something positive to motivate you...it will be more sustainable. :happy:0
