New to the site and software, but already working on fitness

I had been using other software, but joined MyFitnessPal yesterday for several reasons:
1. I recently got a smartphone, and *love* the fact that I can make entries from wherever I am, using the Android app
2. I quickly checked a few foods and found that they were already in the database, and that entering my own foods is easy
3. My wife likes this, too, and we can kind of track/communicate about food through this
4. I like the message boards
5. I like the user interface
I'm realizing I could go on. Kudos to the developers.
About me: I had a heart attack last Father's Day, June 20. I was told I was "unlucky." My coronary arteries were almost completely clean, but I had one deposit in a bad place (left anterior descending artery) that cracked, creating a blood clot. This is the kind of heart attack, they said, that is called The Widow Maker. But I was also lucky, because I was 20 minutes away from a hospital that has been doing five years of clinical trials of the use of stents in emergency situations. 90 minutes after first symptoms I experienced at home, two stents were in place.
This all happened when I had already been losing weight and exercising for about five months. Again -- unlucky.
A month after "the event" I started a 12 week rehab, at the hospital, consisting of cardio exercise three days a week. When I was done, I was able to continue similar exercises using home equipment I already had: treadmill, recumbent bike, bowflex. So, I transitioned over to my own program the first part of October, 2010. Since then, I have been exercising and paying attention to my diet, but didn't get back to serious tracking again until February of this year. Since then, I have been doing workouts and putting a lot of attention into tracking what I eat.
I'm 6'-2", 62 years old, and a year ago January I was about 250 lbs. I had dropped down to 232, and had been doing daily, brisk walks of 2-3 miles with my wife and dog, when I had my heart attack. Since then I have dropped another 15 pounds, for a net loss to date of 33 lbs. I'm doing pretty serious cardio five days a week, weights three days a week, and continuing the walks with my wife and dog seven days a week, eating 2,000 calories a day.
I know I have the discipline to reach my goals, because I lost 50 lbs. a few years ago. What I have lacked is a good maintenance strategy -- a way of eating and exercising I can live with for the rest of my life -- which is why I slowly regained the weight that I had lost. I have some ideas about what I might do differently this time around, but I hope I can learn some more from you all.

Welcome. Sorry about your heart attack but happy you are ok now. The android app is the best thing I have on my phone. My wife and I love it and I believe it will make a difference in our life. Good luck to you you and your wife.0
