so i figure since i watch about an hour of tv a night, and it's usually after work when i'm exhausted and too lazy to really work out, i thought i would put a stationary bike in front of the tv so at least i'm moving while watching tv. i know they're pretty easy and they don't burn tons of calories unless you're on a high resistance level, but it's better than sitting on the couch and eating a snack i probably shouldn't be having, right??

i'll never be one of those people who works out like crazy and enjoys going to the gym, so i thought this would be one of those easy things that i could do to burn a few extra calories a day without feeling like i'm forcing myself to do something that i really can't stand, like half hour on the elliptical or something.

what are your thoughts or experiences with stationary bikes?

I do not have a bike, but I have a treadmill in front of a TV. I make sure to find something good on, preferably a movie, and I GO! I am paying attention to the movie and not what I am doing or for how long, and next thing I know It's been 2 hours! I think it's a great idea!

A friend of mine lost over 100 pounds using stationary bike at night. She said she sometimes does 2 hours because time just flies by.

I am a cyclist and love LOVE biking! I also have a stationary bike as well that i use almost every morning. I catch up with TV online while riding. I cant live without biking and for me it would be a no brainer to get one.
  • Love my stationary bike that i keep in front of the tv... definitely find something good on or you'll worry about flipping channels rather than pedalling haha!!
