    Welcome to MFP!! :flowerforyou:

I read your profile. I love both cheese AND chocolate so my weight loss wouldn't last a minute in your household! Just kidding... It's all about moderation, I still keep both of my 'loves' in my diet.

Can't wait to see your weight loss journey progress! You will love this place!
  • LOL...yeah it's hard! I'm just ready to make changes in my eating habits. I'm so tired of feeling tired all the time. I get up feeling bad and go to sleep feeling bad. So bith of us decided that it was time for change. So no chocolate or cheese for the time being...lol (I'll admit can't do without it forever)

I too love both cheese and chocolate. I've found that lite string cheese is a pretty decent snack when you need a cheese fix. Also, adding some flavorful feta to a salad tastes fantastic without blowing the calorie budget. I read on here something about laughing cow cheese in individual servings that sounded pretty fantastic. With the chocolate cravings I've got some cocoa powder stashed away at work and I just put less water in to make it more concentrated. Trader Joes has some decent 100 calorie chocolate sticks individually wrapped. I've also found 3 Muskeeters mint chocolate bars help, especially if you can resist eating both candies in a package or sharing one with a friend.

Also, my husband and I have created a beer for chocolate barter in our house. I control his access to beer and he hides the chocolate from me. If I need some chocolate or he wants a beer we've got to negotiate. The real trick is that both of us are pretty motivated to lose weight so maybe you can work out a cheese for chocolate system with your partner.

You'll find mfp really helpful. Lots of great info and support. It helps to keep track of the calories and keeps me from forgetting how much or when I've eaten. I'm not into exercise, always been into sewing, reading, basically not sweating, so this is a slow process for me. I do try to walk more and eat less sweets. Good luck. I hope you get what you need from this site. Jackie

LOL...thats a great idea...but knowing her she won't budge with the chocolate no matter how much I negotiate. But I suppose that's a good thing!
