Help, I'm stuck here in the same weight loss (or no loss) loop for almost 2 months now.
M goal is 145 pounds, and I'm close...
I weigh myself on Monday and the scale says 147, I think yay!!! I stay within my calories all week, and exercise 2 to 3 times. At least twice a week I ride my bike to the YMCA (4.3 miles) work on weights for 40 or 45 minutes and ride home. I eat my exercise cals.

I weigh on Friday and the scale says 150. I don't exercise over the weekend, and usually go over my cals by 100 to 200 each day. On Monday the scale says 147 again...

After 2 months, this is really becoming frustrating! I just joined the Y, and started with weights about 2 weeks ago, and I thought that would shake things up a bit, but no same old loop. Feels like Ground Hog Day......

You have done an awesome job getting to within 2 pounds of your goal. My goal is 145 also, but I know that there will be days when I weigh a little more or a little less. I think you would have much more peace of mind if you set yourself a "lee-way" amount. Mine will be 3 pounds up or down before I start freaking out. The other 2 pounds will join the rest....keep doing what you are doing and be proud of yourself!!!!

try playing with your numbers. Up your daily calorie intake by 100 or so and see if it helps at all. You're overeating slightly on weekends but still losing weight... so maybe your body is telling you it needs more calories to lose weight.

Do you think I should change to maintenance cals and keep with the exercising?

Great job!! Realistically, it's impossible to maintain one weight for even 24 hours. Even if you did reach 145 on a given day, you could easily weigh at 144 the next day or 147 the day after that. Set your goals in inches or body fat, because those don't fluctuate after just drinking 16 oz of water--but you'd gain a whole lb on the scale.

Give your body a rest. You know you've worked super hard, and now you may very well be at your goal weight--but you wouldn't know unless you totally emptied your entire GI tract by ceasing to eat for 13 hours. I think it's time to get back to maintenance and re-evaluate your goals. :flowerforyou:

I think thats a good idea. I know I have read that that is what Vivikay did when she got close. Itwas slow coming off that way but much easier on your body. Good job!

    Maybe its the weights.
If you are putting on muscle mass, then the scale isn't going to say what you want it to. As long as you are getting healthier and losing fat, ignore the scale. :flowerforyou:
