I do not have weights around the house and it's not really in my budget just yet to purchase them. Does anyone have any improvisions that have worked for you?

If you have wide mouthed sports bottles (like the kind you carry in your bikes bottle holder) fill them with gravel or dirt (or even water) until they weigh the same. Voila! Instant dumbbells. I filled mine with grave, and easily got them to around 2.5 lbs. Not much weight, but if you are doing small muscle workouts, or use them when doing some cardio, they can really add up.
You can use small mouthed sports bottles, just takes more patience to fill them if you're using gravel or dirt.0 -
Bags of sugar.
Water is the most common substitute in something sealed and robust like err a bottle or wear more clothes that's what my friend does but they're a tad strange and sweaty so it's probably not the best idea.0 -
How about some resisitence bands?0
