I have heard several people mention eating chick peas.
I bought a bag.
Now.......how do I fix them?

You can do it as a salad with a light vinaigrette. Or you can do them boiled with other vegetables (turnips, zucchini, tomatoes, green peppers) in chicken broth.

The second is my favorite. I suggest to add herbs (thyme, oregano, bay leaves to cook them instead of using salt)

I made some hummus. It was pretty yummy. I googled recipes and picked one that looked good and put in the ingrediants I had. The chick peas, garlic, just a tad of olive oil, some spices. It was good and in moderation, I don't think it was too bad for you. But keep in mind I'm new at this. :-) Chick peas are also good sprinkled on salads.

I like roasted chick peas but I start with canned.

Drain and rinse them, toss with a Tablespoon of oilve oil and seasonings, you can try garlic powder, cumin, curry, or any of the seasoning mixes out there, I also like a bit of salt.

Bake at 450 F for 30 min or until golden brown and crispy

I'm vegetarian, so I LOVE LOVE chickpeas!

Use caned chickpeas because dried often have bugs in them, not so awesome.

    1. Mix them through a normal salad, or make a chickpea salad which I eat as a side.
2.This is chickpeas with diced red pepper, red onion, coriander, tomato with some olive oil, Moroccan spice mix... very good.
    3. I also do a whole stack of roasted peppers, eggplant, zucchinni, red onion and garlic which I cook until soft in the oven, then put them on the stove and finish with some balsamic and mix chickpeas through.
    4. I also make a stew with couliflour, pumpkin and chickpeas: just cook the veg in some vegetable stock, and some curry spices and add your chickpeas.
5.They can also be used to replace mince to make patties.

Hopefully that's enough to get you started. Can you tell that I love chickpeas! Enjoy!
