Low Carb, High Fat??

Options
I've hit a plateau and it has been suggested to go low carb 50-100 carbs/day max, just for two weeks to get me off my plateau....I've noticed low carb options = high fat options. Is this okay?? I'm scared the higher fat will make me gain! Also, any meal suggestions if I decide to try low carb?

I eat mostly meat (chicken, fish) and veggies...I rarely go over 100 carbs a day and hardlly ever surpass 1/2 my fat allocation. Hope this helps!

I eat low carb (a lot lower than 100g) and a higher fat diet. I am a super slow loser but I have never gained any weight when I have increased my fat intake.

I recommend it, but I would first find out how many carbs a day you eat now. Then just try to cut it in half. Personally, I would go high fat, though. I would try cutting out potatos, bread, pasta, sugar, and high carb veggies as a way to go. A meal I would eat for instance is salmon, sauteed onions, broccoli and a side salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing.

Thanks everyone. I"m hoping to 'shock' my body. I LOVE LOVE carbs so this is going to be extremely difficult but I'm hoping such a change will produce some weight loss since I always eat lots of carbs....

You can easily do low carb, low fat as well. It is just a little harder. Cutting your starches and starchy veggies (corn and potatoes) eating low GI fruits would probably be a big shake up for your plateau.

Some of my go tos are..

    Lean meats and fish
    egg whites
    protein powders
    lowfat cottage cheese
