I am in the market for a new scale. Do you have one you would recommend?

Thanks!

  • one that will give you a digital reading (I hate the ones that have the pin and numbers, you can't get an accurate reading). Mine also (very horribly but it's motivating to make it go down) body fat %.

can't remember the brand, but you can personalize it to put in your height and weight.

i would love to find one that knows I had too much sodium yesterday and takes that into account, or knows that I only ate that cupcake because it was my dear friend's birthday . . . and not punish me for those things. I have a digital one I bought at Target a couple years ago and it doesn't have those functions.

I don't care about the special features so much. We just want a scale which reliably, consistently reports accurate weight.

My wife and I have bought 2 digital scales which report weight down 1/10's (current Taylor). These scales create the illusion of consistency by remembering your last weight and simply re-displaying the same number if you're within a couple lbs; but if you reset its memory by stepping on with 10+ lb. weights and then re-weighing, you'll typically get widely different readings.

We've adopted a ritual of weigh/re-set/re-weigh until we get the same number 3 or more times and using that as the weight, but this is tedious and time-consuming and frankly drives me up the freaking wall.:explode:

Like I said, I don't need a scale that gives BMI or any other fancy functions. I just want a digital scale that consistently delivers accuracy to its advertised precision. Does anyone know if such a scale exist?

I hear the Tanita ones are exceptional.

Digitals are great because they give you lbs and ounces. I got mine from Walmart 4yrs ago. Sunbeam digital. No problems and works great! Oh and it was under $20bucks.
