New, where do I start?

Hi, my name is Peg. A friend posted information on this site on Facebook, so I am trying it because arthritis is making it more difficult to burn calories and I am gaining weight.
Where do you suggest I start for my first week on this site?

    Consistent and thorough logging of your foods and some light excercise like walking or swimming!!! Welcome to MFP...it is a great place and it does help!!! Lots of motivations and support and information to help you on your journey!!!

    welcome! you can always walk :P walking is great plus make sure you log in you exercise and calorie intake and you will do great! zumba is also good for people with arthritis, my instructor has arthritis and she shows low impact forms for her routines, its great!

    Thanks for great suggestions! I will begin adding walking to my activities and I will look into Zumba modified.
    I have a recumbent bike and the physical therapist has approved that for mild activity, so I did that this morning.
    Where do I keep a personal log of my physical activity?
