I have been doing pretty good w/this, but how much fiber are you trying to get in? I have switched to whole grain breads & pastas, brown rice or some of the grains I hadn't heard of much before (Quinoa), a ton of raw veggies & fruits. It seems the raw veggies have more fiber in them than most fruits. I also am using popcorn, nuts or dried fruit as a snack...actually, mix all together & make my own trail mix. Hope this helps.

Take a look at this link that lists high fiber foods and see if you can incorporate any of these into your diet

    http://commonsensehealth.com/Diet-and-Nutrition/List_of_High_Fiber_Foods.shtml

Also benefiber have these neat on the go packets in different flavors that I absolutely love. You add the packet to 16 ounces of water and it provides 3 grams of fiber. 15 calories each. If you add 2 or 3 of these a day, it all adds up quicky.

Usually my Quaker weight control oatmeal and raisin bran cereal give me the highest amounts of fiber throughout the day.

    Good luck!

Yeah... just dont' overload- only do the recomended. I have done too much and enjoyed the results- but once you stop its not worth it. Your body doesn't know how to handle without it.
  • Avocado has a lot of fiber and they taste so good......

My nutritionist told me once to look for foods that have at least 3g of fiber or MORE... that way you'll definately get what you need in a day... try to find alternatives to the foods you all ready eat... for instance... if you like granola bars try Fiber One's granola bars. The oats and chocolate bars have 9 GRAMS!!! That's TWICE as much as I've seen on any other granola bar... and they are super tasty too!!!

    Hope that helps!

Oatmeal and apples are my mainstay for fiber. Adding something (meaning chemicals) to try to get in fiber isn't necessary. In my opinion, you should be able to get what you need from whole foods rather than a supplement.

Thank you all for the suggestions - I'm kind of anti-chemical if I can help it and don't want to rely on powders. Who knew about avocados! I always thought of fibre as - well - kind of fibrous.

fruit and fibre is brilliant, but I pick out most of the raisins as that adds a lot of sugar!
