Eating enough calories!

Hey you guys,
I noticed that when I work out I have at least 800 calories to do to reach my calorie goal. I am finding it difficult to find different snacks that I can eat on in order to prevent my body going into starvation mode. I know I need to eat at least half of the 800 to keep my metabolism going. Any suggestions? Also looking for friends!

I had that same issue when I first did this and to me it didn't make sense to eat back everything that you ate. You gotta keep in mind that MFP already takes away usually around 500 calories from your daily caloric intake to lose weight. Your body needs calories to function, obviously too many calories you gain weight, but you never wanna go below 1200 net calories. You will in fact put your body in starvation mode (many weeks and many people drilling this in my head).
If you know there is going to be a day where you are going to burn a high rate of calories, then plan your meals for that day ahead of time, or drink protein shakes. They are higher in calories, and help repair the muscles after a workout.
Hope this helps, as i'm still a n00b at this :P0 -
I am right there with you:-) I am also having a hard time eating all my calories and I don't want to eat unhealthy stuff. I work out 6 days a week and almost always have extra calories! Nuts are a great idea, I also may start to add peanut butter or protein shake after my workouts for recovery. Good Luck!!! you can add me as a friend:-):smile:0

If I am exercising for the day I like to use the Special K protein bars as a snack. They are low fat, high in protein, and super yummy. Plus the extra protein is good for your muscles when you're working out.0

All of these are great ideas! I will try to incorporate nuts into my diet since I enjoy them. I will continued trying different foods and paying attention to the impact of my workouts. Thanks so much!0

I have added a few extra things earlier in my day (breakfast & lunch) to help fight the problem of too many calories left over in the evenings.
I am sooooo addicted to Greek Yogurt, so delicious, I have it twice a day....0
