I have trouble eating enough calories everyday. I know it will damage my metabolism if I eat too little for a period of time but I just don't have an appetite and I when I do feel hungry I get full very quickly. Anyone know any healthy high calorie foods or have any tips?

peanut butter is a great way to boost your calories. its taste good with apples, on whole wheat toast, or just by the spoonful.

Nuts! I buy almonds when I remember to while I'm out shopping. High in calories and good for you!

All natural peanut butter, or just any nuts in general (unsalted). Protein shakes are pretty good too.

Nuts. You can add them to your cereal or salad. Peanut Butter. Avocados. Bananas. Olive Oil.

Have pretzels smeared with peanut butter and Nutella...It tastes like peanut butter Twix!
  • nuts are definately good. Also you can eat bars higher in carbs before you train and it helps up your calories. The Power Bars and Winners bars are around 200-230 calories, and they are light because they are designed to eat before a long run when you dont really want much in your stomache. I use them before my long run and it is amazing to see the difference in performance.. Good luck

It is worth the investment to see a nutritionist for an accurate evalutation of your current caloric intake and what you need to increase your calories in a healthy way. You may need more calories to fuel your energy requirements for working out (endurance or strength training), and I would not take the risk of figuring it out for myself. Too many fads with nutrition and supplement advice lead to mistakes, which could make you more vulnerable to an injury. Insurance may even cover the visit., It is important to have enough calories but, it needs to be distributed in a health way.
