Belly issues

Hi all!

I really need some help, I appear to be slowly losing weight from the top down but my belly is still a bit too big for my liking. Any tips for quick fat burning in that area or even some toning help.

Zumba is making my arms and legs thinner but the middle jiggles just that little bit too long for my liking!

When it comes to belly fat..its all about the diet...eliminate sugar, and processed foods, and minimize simple carbs like fruit and bread.......

I thought the exact same thing when I looked in the mirror this morning, and I have heard the advice TLC says before as well, guess we'd better get on it!
  • Can any one recommend things that are good to eat for energy if we have to cut out basic carbs? (I also am not liking my tummy)

I eat only complex carbs, ie. salads, oatmeal, beans etc.......they are filling and will help get rid of the belly fat....also make sure ur getting enough protein and water...and stick to lean fats..like flax , nuts or from natural lean sources of meats.

  • Thanks TLC some good ideas there. I really struggle with recipe ideas sometimes though - I work full time so find myself reaching for bad things!

xhanabanax that's one of my problems! I'm always slumping in the middle of the day. Although I am trying to eat walnuts instead of bad foods. I was shocked at the fat content of them (albeit good fats I think)

P.s has anyone got any exercise tips centred on the stomach?

    Katy,

I work full time too, and I don't follow a lot of "recipes" mostly because I'm not fond of cooking and not a lot of time..so I usually cook a lot of what I eat ahead of time (usually sunday afternoon and wednesday evening), pack it into my servings and away I go, its really the only way I could do it, otherwise, like you I would be grabbing for the bad stuff...

There is no such thing as spot-reduction.
  • Thanks TLC that's a great tip!

JohnnyNull, what do you mean by spot-reduction?

Your body will lose the fat where it wants to, not necessarily where you want it to. Proper diet, and exercise will help you lose fat, but your tummy may be the last place you lose it. You will lose proportionally; Some here, some there, but for most people the belly is the last place you will lose.

i agree..you cant spot reduce..even through diet..your body loses fat where it wants to. and belly fat is usually the last to go. believe me..i'm in great shape, and still have a little pooch i cant get rid of unless i get down in my body fat %. currently i'm at 23%. certain exercises wont help..its overall body fat loss that will.
