When I add in my foods in my food journal, I am almost always in the negatives with my protein. Is this really bad for me?

No. The protien amount they have set up on here is low. I try to target my protien to be 1/2 to 3/4 gram per pound that I weigh. So lets say you weigh 100 pounds, that would be 50 to 75 grams of protein a day. Make sense? I'm guessing you weigh more than that. So you need to just figure it with your weight.0

Thanks! I have been wondering the same thing as well. I am always over on my proteins for the day and was hoping this wouldn't hurt my weight loss goals. I don't eat hardly any red meats and try to have one or two vegetarian dinners a week as well. Yet, every day I look at my totals and see I went over again on that part! (Even when I have 600 calories left from exercise!! ) Glad to know that it is just the site and not me.0

Protein is your muscle milk. If you're working out then you need to be sure you get lots of protein. The more muscle you build the more fat you will burn. I try to get a minimum of one gram per one pound. It's not that easy to do without a protein shake or supplement. It was also mentioned on this site a few weeks ago that there's no real downside for going over on protein, so eat all the protein you can find!!0

Yeah, guys are a little different and need more than women. Protein builds muscles and carbs fuel them. The only thing I would remember is to get plenty of fiber. I know for me eating a lot of protein tends to move things through my system slower, fiber can help.0 -
Same here with the protein. I kept seeing that minus before the numbers and thinking I was doing something really bad!
