Military needs your prayer

News just came out for all Active Duty military. We will only get half a pay check on the 15th. And unless congress makes a decision we will NOT be getting paid on the 1st. Please pray for our troops (myself included), as many of us will be unable to pay our bills and provide for families.

my brother in law is in Korea and his wife called me last night freaking out. You are all definately in my prayers. On his base in Korea they are also doing mandatory black outs for 7 hours Saturdays and Sundays to save on electicity. :sad:0

This is the kind of crap I can't stand. In my opinion all military especially active duty and veterans need to be taken care of. No questions about it. Sick of seeing this mess happen year after year!! You are all in my prayers for sure!0

My son deployed with USMC aboard the USS Green Bay with wife here. Prayers are sent out everyday to all Military members and their families. Pay our people!0

Although, living and working in Italy, I'm not directly influenced by this situation about 95% of my family (mother, father, brother, loads of aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) is so I'll definitely include you in my very wide circle of prayers.:flowerforyou:0

I love how we have all been told to call banks, credit cards and anyone else we make payments to And tell them we will not be paying, then ask if we can pay when we get paid. Really??? So we are all just supost to tell everyone Hey, sorry i cant pay my car payment, rent, insurance, electric bill.... What about our credit scores? What about our cleanaces that cost the govt thousands of dollars to provide for us, how many will lose them over financial issues. While the congressmen sitting on their rears arguing get paid. WTH!!! I can't even imagine the families that have members over seas and children...0

Why are we always sending money to other Countries, when we need to take care of our own. Is everyone in the White House just stupid? It isn't hard to figure out that we can't keep doing this. Alot of them hate the USA to begin with, and we help them and treat our own like this? I'm sorry for all these countries that they are in a bad way, but at this point so are we. I pray for our Military, this is so awful!!!!0

The military should be the FIRST people to get paid..they risk their lives EVERY second of EVERY day for us! If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have a government so take away the politicians checks and give to the military..sorry this is a sore subject for me!0

That is so wrong!!! My nephew is in the Air Force, and is supporting a family of 5!! All of the males in my family have served in various branches and wars...WTF is wrong with our government????? The people that risk their lives for us, are getting screwed...I see no logic in that at all. Also :sad:for the Federal employees as well!0

My husband has spent over 30 months deployed to either Afghanistan or Iraq and over 2 years in S. Korea and THIS is the thanks he gets? GRRRR!0

The things that they are stuck on trivial..you are planning on stopping military and federal employees over planned parenthood and abortions? COngress is really going to let 800,000 employees furloughed over the issue of planned parenthood doing abortions???? It doens't matter what the beleif is on the subject, it's that my bank account and that of others the are fighting a war that should have been over years ago are not going to be able to support their families.. Congress and Obama needs to get off their sorry butts and settle this thing...worry about cutts on planned parenthood and the other cuts on 2012 budget that is due not on the 2011 budget that was suppose to be done in Nov of last year!!!!!!! Sorry Bit a venting....0

omg!! i just heard my ex and my brother are in the military,,,,so will this affect our child support too? it sucks cause this affects a lot of people..even though he is my ex, i still care about his well being..and my poor little bro,,lives off base..this will be super hard for him... 0

No problem, those are very common questions.
I am Air Force and posted what we have been told this morning by our direct leadership. I'm sure the news channels will get the details by the end of the day. As things stand now we could possibly not get pay checks until June. We all hope for this to be solved before the end of the month.0 -

I understand. I am fortunate not to have children to worry about right now, but I am going through a divorce and just moved out on my own with 3 pets. We are all hurting! Try calling anyone you owe money too and let them know you will not be able to make payments until we recieve full paychecks (sucks, but i'm sitting at work doing that) and use what little money we do recieve to buy food and gas only. Thats what my leadership is telling all of us. Your family is in my prayers, good luck.0 -
You know, though -- not to excuse it -- this isn't a new or novel situation. Back in the 1930's, WWI vets had to gather in DC and demand that the bonuses due them be paid; during the Revolution, Washington's Continental Army was in danger of dissolving due to lack of funding.
Somehow, those who serve in the military often seem to get the short end of the stick...0 -

It's things like this that make me wish i could smack every single member of Congress...especially certain members who run their campaigns on "supporting our troops" and other crap like that, then when it comes down to it, are too stubborn to budge from their misguided ideals and help our military personnel and other federal employees retain the paychecks they deserve.

As a Veteran (USMC), I am outraged that once again, the military is treated with such little regard. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you and your families still depending on a paycheck.0

Well, I'm glad my enlsitment is up in 1.5 yrs. I have found out that Texas residents who are prior military can go to college for free, and i still have my GI bill. Texas A&M is looking better every day!0
