If I stay up until midnight, can I eat tomorrow's breakfast then or do I have to sleep first? Has anyone ever considered this before? When do the new food calories start?

At midnight the day changes on the calorie counter so I don't know but sometimes I eat breakfast before bed.0

If you really wanted to, you theoretically could. I always consider the time before I go to sleep for the night all part of the same day (so if I go to sleep at 1am, everything I ate before then was for the previous day).
Breakfast is meant to energize you in the morning, though, so I can't imagine why you'd want to eat it before going to sleep.0 -

I count everything I eat before I go to bed and usually put the real late food in an extra snack section. This doesn't happen very often, just when I'm up late studying or after I go out with friends.0

Whenever you want them to start. Weight loss is cumulative and there isn't a master set of "rules" for everyone to follow. I personally don't go to sleep until anywhere from 10PM-3AM (yes it varies that much), and usually I'm eating a snack somewhere in there before I go to bed. I also (personally) keep track of what I've eaten from when I wake up to when I've gone to bed again, but everyone is different.0 -
For me, I consider the new day to begin after I've gone to sleep and once I've woken up. So even if it is past midnight, the things that I eat I put on the day before (after MFP switches it over).
But sometimes, I eat a little bit more one night, and it puts me over my calories for the day. So I'll add that to breakfast of the next day, and then eat less the next day because of it. Your body doesn't reset like a clock, it is a much more fluid thing. So as long as you don't do this continually (meaning that you really are just eating more than your calorie allotment every day), you will be fine.0 -

I'd rather have a late night snack and log that into my diary the next day after 12am rolls around..0

I will do this but ONLY if I stay up til 4 or 5 AM (and have breakfast then, not right at midnight) and don't intend to just eat and immediately go to sleep,0

if its after midnight its the next day, whether you call it breakfast or late night snack0
