Hello.

I first started this about a month 1/2 ago. I'm not afraid to say that I gave up. I really want to get back into it because I'm going on vacation for a while this summer and I don't want to feel bad about myself like I do now.

=)

any advice?

  • Sounds like me! I'm a student, and the last few weeks have not gone well. No time for anything but school, work and homework/projects/studying. Needless to say I fell off the bandwagon. I'm back now though, and ready for business! I love the database on this site, it has LOTS of entries. I've not found many foods that aren't in there yet!

Keep at it, you'll be so very happy this summer.

Just keep yourself accountable! Tell yourself that whatever you eat, you have to put in your diary. When you are unmotivated or discouraged, think of the final product that you want or go to the success story message board! You can get to your goal, you just need to stay motivated and keep yourself accountable. Follow your plan, don't weigh yourself obsessively, and eat right! It's okay to cheat every once in awhile too :)

    Portion. Water. Determination.
There is no can't when you truly want something. If you give up, you never expected to succeed in the beginning. Set your mind to it and never look back. Do not dwell on the past. Do not look too far in the future. Set small attainable goals and reward your self with a small portion of your fave food or a new top. And NEVER be afraid to ask for help!
  • Don't give up on yourself! It's easy to do & I've been there myself MANY times! Hang in there and take each moment as it comes. I've lost over 100 pounds since 2008 and FINALLY able to keep it off after being obese most of my life. The difference this time is I don't throw the towel in if I screw up! I just pick back up with the next meal, or snack & make better choices and keep up the activity.
Reach out to those around you, and through MFP for help and support! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

For inspiration I go to the success part of the message board and read a few every morning. I know it's kinda silly but the competative nature in me says that if they can do it so can I. If you have a phone that you can download the app to then by all means do. Don't bite before you write even if it's on a piece of paper until you can get it logged in later. Hope that helps and feel free to add me.

Congrats on coming back! Plan your meals out for each day and stick to it. Same thing with exercising. (no emotional eating or skipping your exercise) After the first week, you'll feel better, your clothes will feel better and should give you enough motivation to keep going. Good luck - the first week is ALWAYS the hardest!
