New to MFP, and loving it. I think it is exactly what I needed to stay on track. Just wondering why when I strength train it doesnt show as calories burned? Greatly appreciate any assistance in this.

You can log strength training under cardio.

This is a familiar question and really is based on the impossibility to accurately determine the calories you burn during a particular exercise. It depends so much on the weight you use, the number of times you do each one, how hard it is for you to do them (which depends on your original strength), how much rest time you have between different exercises, exactly how you perform each one, etc. I deal with this by trying to keep the rest periods between exercises to almost zero, doing mostly whole body exercises and then logging the time under cardio. Essentially my strength training becomes cardio the way my heart is racing and how bushed I am after 25 minutes. I keep my HR elevated the entire time as if I was jogging down the road at about 6 mph. Works for me.
