How do I get this program to record calorie's burned for strength training (weights). The Cardio section works with calorie burn counting not strength training. Excited to use this program. Thanks!!

  • Hi there. This site doesn't track calories for Strength training. Only cardio. I know, you know, everyone knows that strength training burns some calories too. but for each person it is so individualized based on your size, your build, your existing muscle mass, how much you're lifting, etc, etc... that MFP doesn't want to try and generalize a calorie guess for it. You might try looking on google for anything that might give you an estimation and you can pick a cardio exercise that lists the same number of calories?!? Good luck with that.

    Type in strength training under cardio. Something should come up and you may want to log your strength training under cardio and weight training. Good luck!

    I added my own exercise under cardio when I had an estimate of what I burned. I then log the time spent, AND list the specific exercises under strength.

    Thanks I will do that! I can always just figure out the calories burned and type those in:)
