First Mani/Pedi

Taking my 11 yo. for her first one tomorrow. Any tips for a single Daddy? She is afraid she'll just peal off the color on her nails so she's thinking clear coat. She is thinking blue or red for her toes. Wth do I know besides how to pay?

    She'll enjoy it. You're a nice dad. All you really have to do is sit there and wait for her, tell her how good it looks when she's done and pay. Don't forget to leave a nice tip. :)

    And i would say for an 11 year old, she could go with a few colors (I'd stay way from deep shades, though, to keep it fun and age appropriate).

    it shouldn't peel, she definitely needs color!! Mine will last 2 weeks without chipping etc in the summer and I spend every weekend at the river and usually several days through the week there or in a pool ;)

    oh and the designs they put on look cute too, especially for an 11 yr old. Heck, I am 30 and like to get a flower design on both my big toes! :)

    no thanks I had a manicure once not my style, pocket knives are my idea of fancy nail cuttin'

    As for you, you should get a pedi with her!! I PROMISE you will thank me! My dad will get them and he works on cars. They won't paint your toes, but you will get a good massage and get them cleaned! DOOO IT!!!

    DOOOOO IT! I would have thought it was excellent if my dad had gotten a pedi with me when I was 11.

    she is worried about the pealing, but I think I will let the ladies convince her. Not worried about the masculinity of a pedicure it just isn't me.

    She will love it if you doo!!! It will be fun and giggily! Just do it! It will benefit both of you, and the torture will only last for 30mins. (if you call a foot massage torture!)

    It won't peel, like normal polish I swear! They put something on it.

    If she wants to look all fancy, she can go with painted white tips. I like the white-tipped toes. :)

    Yeah. I always get a French pedicure. They make my feet look clean even when they're not.

    I will consider a pedicure, reluctantly. I did think to mention french tips but I really have no idea what that means.

    Tell her to get French tips, they are SO pretty; she'll love it! You are a GREAT Dad for bringing her for a pedi!

    What a sweet thing to do for your daughter! At 11 though, she should get some funky color on her toes. IMO, french tips are a bit too mature for a little girl. I'm a polish peeler too, so before I got solar nails, I always just got clear polish on my fingers. It wasn't a matter of it chipping, I would purposefully pick and peel it off when I was bored/nervous.

    She decided on a bright sparkly blue on all her nails, no design, just a single color but she is being so careful with her fingers it's adorable. I will try to post a pic in a bit.

    What a good Daddy! I usually have bright blue or purple on my toes... nothing wrong with that! My brothers called me popsicle toes when I was a kid... usually had more than one color on my toes. Fingers are usually clear.
