I am new here. My brother recommended this site to me. I talked my best friend into using it too. We both love it. I've been on similar food/exercise journal sites and nothing is like what I have found here. I love knowing how much I can eat each day. So easy to keep track of it here! I lost 15 pounds in five weeks, starting at the end of January, but haven't lost anything in several weeks. I gave up what I was doing and was looking for something else to work. That's when my brother told me about this site.
I am really motivated to lose this. I have a son who is overweight and I want to set an example for him. I have started monitoring heavily what he eats, meaning no junk food. He is only eight and is not thrilled with giving up junk food, but I got him started on a food journal and he loves writing down what he eats. I don't have him on a diet as I don't feel kids belong on them. He just needs to eat healthier. Now if I could just get his grandmothers to curb what they give him I'd be doing great!! I also have a little girl. She needs to gain weight!!! I just want to have the energy needed to keep up with my kids and not be so tired after coming home from work.
The other motivation is my sister is getting married in October. I am sooo very happy for her and cannot wait for the wedding. However, I don't want to weigh this much. I started at 200 and am down to 186. I would be ecstatic to hit 160 which is where I was when I got married, but my dream goal is 140. I don't have a set time limit on this, but I would at least like to be 160 by my sister's wedding. Looking forward to reading everyone's stories and having success!!

Good luck.....and I don't know you either and I don't find you exhausting but I do find the comment rude and uncalled for!! I to, have an overweight child and we have started keeping track of her eating habits as well and she is more than motivated to learn healthy eating and shed a few pounds!! Best wishes on your journey!!0

What did you do to lose that weight in that time period?0

I did Atkins. Mainly I ate a lot of veggies, chicken, and steak. I got real tired of it real fast though. I stopped doing that a few weeks ago. Since then I have been just eating a lot more veggies and fruits in addition to my regular meals and trying to keep my carbs in a decent range, but not low like it was.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!!0
