I'm new to this site, and my dietician recommended it. The only problem I've run into is the the calories I can consume. I'm supposed to only consume 1800 calories, and 225 carbs...any suggestions?

I do between 1200 and 1400. So you can do 1800. Just eat a lot of vegetables, and lower your sugar and fat intake. Also...eat as little pre-made , packaged food as possible. You can do it. You might feel hungry at first but if you learn to fill up on what is good for you it won't seem as hard.0

Adding some extra exercise (even light walking) will allow you to "earn" extra calories each day. Obviously the ideal situation is not that we max our calories every day but if you feel like you need a little extra food at this stage, the additional exercise might help. Best of luck.
