An article in the Daily Mail today (Apr 11th 2011, pg. 9) says researchers have found that blueberries not only help prevent heart disease and type 2 diabetes but can help break down fat cells AND prevent new ones from forming from between 27-73 percent. That's amazing - might have to start eating them even though I don't really like them apart from in muffins and I don't think they count LOL

Blueberries are also a very low-sugar fruit, so they're an excellent choice for people who are watching carbs and sugars.

I keep mine frozen (buy them that way too) and add them to smoothies. They add nice flavor and make the smoothies thick as they're frozen.
  • I put frozen blueberries and strawberries in my smoothies every day. I add them together then it tastes like mixed berries and not just blueberries or strawberries.

I have them in smoothies or with yougurt & granola almost every day. LOVE them! Thanks for sharing the good tidbit.

I put them in my yogurt or oatmeal. When they are ripe, sweet and frozen they make a great cold treat!
