Completely Lost.....

OK, so I've been working my *kitten* off the past week and I am up 2 pounds. I'm so confused. I completely gave up this morning when I woke up and weighed in. It didn't go up, but it was still the same at 198. I don't understand how I could be working out harder than ever and eating healthier than ever and yet still not be losing any weight at all. When I got on the scale, I gave up. I had made artichoke subs Saturday night and made several because we were supposed to have a Euchre tournament. Well, our plans got messed up and we ended up with about 8 extra subs. So I did good and ate one a day, because they are really quite healthy....if you eat just one. But today, I just gave up and had one for breakfast, and then ate another for lunch. It was almost like my comfort food. It was there, there are still 3 left after eating the two I had, and I just went straight to them. I don't understand what is wrong with me. I feel like I need to do nothing but work out all day long. But I can't because I'm in school. I have to do homework, and sometimes it can take hours to do one project since I'm going to be graduating in May and I have 2 major projects that are due soon. I guess...i'm just asking for someone to maybe look at my diary and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Not all of my exercises are logged because there have been times I've forgotten to wear my HRM, and I don't want to log and think I've burned more calories than I really did, or less than I really did. I really need some help. I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Please don't give up. Look at your sodium and the water intake too. Maybe it's that time and it's water gain or even not "that time" and water retention. I gained three pounds last week following my numbers and even going under a little on the calories. Give it another week and don't get on the scales. Follow your numbers and exercise consistently. Also make sure you didn't put active down in the beginning if you might really be considered not extremely active. The scales aren't always the best indicator of where we are in our goals. Also take your measurements and keep track of those. Other than being emotional about the numbers on the scale how are you feeling? Better and more energetic...that's also another indicator of making good choices. Above all keep going...give it more time...this is a lifetime change not a quick fix. Your future depends on what choices you make today.0

I know it can be discouraging, but keep working at it! Remember that you may see fluctuations in your weight due to the addition of muscle in addition to the things cherilyn221 mentioned....
My personal experience has been that I don't see consistent loss until after 30 days of consistent healthy eating and excersise. I chalk it up to my body "resetting" to a lifestyle change and building the base of new muscle tissue.
Hang in there! We have ALL been there!!!0 -
I know it's tough. I haven't looked at your food diary, and lots of people have given you advice on another thread, AND it's different for every person, so it seems. All I can say is eat clean (no processed stuff) and lots of fruit and veggies, and healthy protein. If you are working out lots, you MUST eat back at least some of your workout calories. There's lots of debate on this site about this, so I went right to my trainer and he agrees that if you are not feeding your body it goes into starvation mode. Think of your body as a car. The 1200 calories is like all the fluids a car needs to keep going every day (like oil, rad fluid, etc). But when you make your car travel 100 miles, you need to refuel or else it runs out of gas and stalls. Simple analogy right?
I found, for myself, that when I wasn't eating enough, the weight stopped coming off.
It's worth a try.
I hope you find the support you are looking for on here.
Best of luck0 -
Lindsey, or anyone else.. when you see your numbers have done up.. don't get depressed, get angry! Show the scale who is boss! Right then and there, do something to take your aggression out (which will also get your heart rate up and burn some calories). turn your road blocks into hurdles and leap over them. you can do this!0
