Choose a weight range, not a specific number. When you are at a healthy weight you will see a lot of fluctuation. And if you want to continue to lose some body fat get into strength/resistance training with a little bit of cardio here and there. This won't make a difference on the scale but will make a difference on your body.

    Hi There,
Congratulations and here is my two sense on your question. Remember, it doesn't stop once you get to goal weight. I was eating 1500 calories and exercising and lost 90 lbs. I kept it off for a long time with exercise however when I stopped exercising as much I slowly started to regain the weight until I gained back 40 lbs. I am back at it now however my husband who lost weight has sort of been ahead of me pioneered the path for me. Once he reached goal weight he determined how much he was losing each week. For instance he was on 1700 calories and losing a pound a week. So since a pound is 3500 calories he divided 3500 between 7 days and added 500 calories a day to maintain his weight. My bad was that I knew how to lose the weight and I really didn't do the math after I got to goal. I will not do that again and will base my weight loss on the numbers to be able to maintain this time around. I will be tweaking and figuring out the numbers to remain thin. All weight control equals is calories in and calories out except for the few exceptions for other with health issues.

    Good luck,
    Hannah

Switch it up!! Keep things exciting. Re-stimulate muscle groups with different types of exercise or activities. Same goes for food. Try a new recipe. Eatingwell.com is a great website. Here are some other recipes I've tried and loved:

that's a good point, we are always focused on a number.

If you start to plateau and you're near your goal weight, chances are you need to eat more! Many people make the mistake of cutting calories when they plateau near their goal and it's the exact opposite of what your body needs. If you have too much of a calorie deficit from working out and not eating exercise calories, your body will stop losing. I've had to start eating back half of my exercise calories and increase my calorie base to 1400 to start losing again.
