The church ladies had an Election Day luncheon sale and just dropped by some left-overs for us--I now have a 2 gallon zip-lock bag of home-made chicken salad (yes, mayo, salt, and all that good stuff!) in my fridge, with home made sweet potato biscuits. I don't even dare go in the kitchen! Anyone want me to FedEx you some biscuits and chicken salad???
It's pouring rain here today--couldn't get in a walk with the dog either.

Oh god! My worst enemies. I'm so addicted, I swear!
I went to a bake sale earlier (for Church) and they piled the leftovers on me. Now they're just sitting in my kitchen calling my name. :grumble:0 -
Now I'm the one who bakes and sends it with hubby to work. I still get to enjoy baking but don't have to eat it. Besides those ladies he works with are wayyyyyyyy to thin.0

I have left overs from a family reunion, I don't know why but all the over 70 crowds thinks they need to send the food to my house. I love them all and I sure love their cooking but I don't need it.0

Hey I need a couple of biscuits.0

They were having a bake sale at the school I went to vote in. I bought 5 cookies for $5...gave one to J.T. to keep him happy while standing in the boring line and brought the rest home for my hubby, is almost 6'4" and thin and can eat anything he wants. Man, I hate him!!! :grumble:

Sitting here now, eating a small bowl of chicken salad YUMMY! Skipped the biscuits though--should probably pitch them as they're just too tempting!
At least they didn't bring some of the left over Smith Island Cake, too! That would have been just waayyy too hard to resist0 -
Pass the chicken salad...as long as it doesn't have any odd things like fruit, nuts and/or raisins. Never understood that stuff in chicken salad! :huh:0

A local delicacy--it's a cake made using multiple thin layers with frosting in between each layer. Can be made in different flavors, like banana, strawberry, chocolate, etc. They are soooo good! Flaky, moist, and wonderful!

Those cakes are also why I don't go anywhere near the dessert table at church dinners--someone always brings at least one and sometimes there's 3 or 4 smith island cakes of various flavors   Its' enough to set me mumbling under my breathe thinking of all that goodness and how bad it is--{sigh} wish this cartoon was true:

The sacrifices you are willing to make for us Shorerider, eating a piece of cake so we can see the inside !!0 -
Is there a recipe you could share with us? I might try to make one for Thanksgiving.0

For the cake? Never made one myself--I don't bake. But from what I understand, it's made using regular cake batter but you just made thin little layers instead of big ones. Most people around here make 10-12 layers; so you need a lot of cake pans and patience to cook them all, unless you have a really BIG oven!
Here's a link to one recipe:

Smith Cake get thee behind me!  I can foresee many many trips to the gym if I attempted that. Although... I am gonna make a batch of Snickerdoodles for the upcoming church Scandinavian Luncheon. (Not Snickerdoodles aren't Scandinavian, and neither am I, but it doesn't really matter). :glasses: :happy:0

Total dissolved solids...so the lower the # in the feed water the more "pure water" your feed water is after 80-90% removal by the membrane.0
