I keep looking at all these pictures and reading all these sucess stories from so many beautiful people. I can't wait till it's my day. I want it so bad!! I wanna post pictures of me all young and skinny and healthy. I just wanna go all out and flaunt it! "look at me! I'm one of the pretty people!" Don't I deserve that dammit!! I can't help but sit here and cry I want it so bad! And when it finally does happen, when I look all sexy and fit, I'm gonna go out and find as many conceided hot women at all the clubs. The ones that wouldn't give me the time of day. And I'm gonna flip 'em the finger!!!!!!!!!!

Let's go bar hopping... I can be your wing man
But truth be told, I do think we really are all pretty. Being fit is just a way for people to appreciate our beauty easier.0 -
I really hope that giving some girl in a club the middle finger isn't your motivation for having a healthy life. You need to find a more wholesome reason. Otherwise what'll happen after you finally flip that girl off? I'm not saying it isn't good material but do it for yourself first and not primarily for that reason.0

I understand your wanting to give the finger. I would take your motivation, even if it is a little vengeful and put it into acheving your goal. Get that frustration out on your cardio.0

Well, I have a friend who recently had gastric bypass surgery. She went from a size 24 to a size 4 in less than a year's time. Needless to say, she didn't find the happiness that she was looking for. She thought that her new size would bring her that "man" and she would be happy because he would love her new size! Well...she's still single, lonely, and trying to chase every man that says hello to her. And she looks pretty unhealthy, unfortunately. So I say, lose the weight but don't wait until you "get small" to start living your life. Confidence comes from within and people are attracted to confident people. Look at all these celebrities out here...which I'm sure you asked...how did he get her? Confidence goes a long way. Good luck!0

Oh Walt I'm reading your post and it brings me to tears. I totally understand where your coming from, I've been "plump" all my life and most guys wouldn't give me the time of day and the ones that did tried to control what I would eat which would make it even worse cause then I'd just eat more (emotional eater here).
Don't do this though so you can give them the what for, they're not worth that. Do this for you and for your health. Those people don't deserve your tears, so don't waist another one on them. If you need me I'm there to support you in anyway that I can. If your having one of those days pls inbox me and I'll do my best to help you out.
Your a strong guy I can see that cause your making this first step and it's not easy to change what you've been doing for so long, but it can be done.
Congrats on your life change, and welcome to MFP.0 -
go for it! sometimes the best motivation to get started is anger!0

You'll get there Walt. Hard work, persistence, patience and support. You can do it man and we'll all be behind you every step of the way!!0

better be careful wagging that finger around...you might be giving a fellow mfp-er the bird!
but i totally know what you mean. sometimes your id just takes over - it happens!
but...there are a lot of "skinny b!tches" out there that used to way 250 pounds! maybe you should just give all thin, healthy women the benefit of the doubt - that they worked their *kitten* of to get there - same as you and everyone here!
i had a friend who had lost a lot of weight and was shopping for the first time for size 6 clothes - while she was in the store, she overheard someone actually say under her breath, "skinny little b!tch". she turned to them and said, "what did you just call me?!" the girl was so embarassed she couldn't repeat herself, but my friend gave her a hug and did a happy dance!
we really freaked that girl out, i think.
good times.
best of luck to you!0 -

If you just work hard to become a skinny jerk, I suspect you won't achieve the good relationship you're hoping for.0

Wow...lighten up. I'm sure the OP was kidding around. If you read his profile, he is clearly here for reasons other than becoming a "skinny jerk."0 -
Take that to the gym!!! Hit them weights hard if you want it that bad! Go for it!0

And maybe I was also kidding around? But it's always nice to have an encounter with the board police.0
