You'll see you can do it. If you are ever bored, read some of the blogs and you will see that you are not alone. I go back and read my first blog in January and am constantly amazed at the difference in myself. It takes a while, but you can do this and be successful, like your inspirational daughter!
  • I started this on 3/27/11 because my daughter had joined and was sharing how it was helping her. She never "nagged" me, but hoped her enthusiasm would be contagious. It was.
The key for me has been to be diligent to keep an accurate food diary- and train myself to seriously pay close attention to EVERYTHING I put in my mouth ( NOT doing this is what has got me to where I am now- Not paying attention leads quickly to apathy>>>>>which leads to neglecting my health>>>>>>>>borderline diabetes>>>>>HIGH cholesterol>>>>>>etc, etc, etc.

I have faltered- I have binged. In the past, if I have done that while dieting, I get angry at myself and feel I've already screwed up any good I've done that day ( and also figured the 2 or 3 days prior to it) ....and would keep it up for several days.
I did it the first week I started here- but I logged it. Not only did it liberate me to be able to confess it to myself- I made my diary public and my friends/support system here didn't throw rocks at me.
I also realized I had only screwed up ONE day, not all the ones before, and that very same day, I was able to salvage it by
knowing how much I cut back @ dinner, went to bed early to avoid the late night munchies and drank more water to flush out the sodium from my body. The same day, I was able to get back up, dust myself off and start a whole new day the next day.

I've only been here 2 1/2 weeks and I already feel like a new person just because I'm eating the way I'm supposed to.
I have NEVER done that- EVER in my life. I've always skipped meals, and grabbed junk food-candy bars-donuts, etc for the quick pick me ups.

Best wishes to you as you begin your journey here.
