I am doing P90X lean program and I know that I will not be able to exercise this Friday and Saturday, so I want to double up today and tomorrow. I'm going to show a massive calorie burn for this and not even going to be able to eat them back...what I am thinking is....can I eat back some of those calories on Friday and Saturday even though I'm not working out on those days? Aren't your calories burned averaged over a week? Any insight you guys can give me would be appreciated!!!!

Hey,
Yea I tend to work it out on more of a weekly calorie count for example if I know im going out for dinner friday night but i cant excercise on this day - i will excersise and eat well on the thursday leaving a surplus of calories so on the friday I can use some of the left overs from friday. Be careful that it balances out over the week though.
If you have the app on your phone you can click to view the weekly results and it shows as a weekly average and what days you were under/over.

Dont shock your body with 2 p90x workouts if its not your norm.
Eat up to maintenance on your "off" days.. Come back to the gym (p90x) and get back on your routine as quickly as you can.
Easy enough?0 -

I don't typically advocate doubling up on workouts because of missed days, but you know what you are and are not capable of. If you think you can handle it, go for it. Normally, I would suggest averaging the extra workouts over more days so that you aren't doubling your workload on any one given day (which can lead to injury), but if you don't have time to do that, then do whatever you think you can manage.
As for calories, it's much better to look at your weekly averages anyway. Daily calculations don't really mean anything, just like weighing yourself every day doesn't give you an accurate picture of your overall progress.0 -
