Struggling. HELP!

I am having an issue. I am eating only when I am hungry and I am drinking a glass or two (or three) before I eat, but I am always hungry! I try to eat something healthy similar to what I am craving because they say your body craves the things it needs (milk, protein, fat, etc.) I don't know what to do. I have been "on a diet" since January and have lost a pound. Last year I ran a 1/2 marathon, didn't eat more than I normally did, ran 20 miles a week, and lost 5 pounds in 6 months. I am about ready to give up.

You haven't given us much information to go by. Exactly what are you eating? Can you open your diary or give us a usual day's meals? Are you staying at your calorie goals?0

First things first. Don't give up. Take a look at what you are eating - too much salt, perhaps, the kinds of foods, exercise, etc. We need a little more info before we can help. I can say this - get into a routine and you will soon find yourself losing weight.0

It might be a metabolism issue...Check out the book "The Metabolism Miracle". It is a little bit hard for the first 8 weeks but honestly, after a week, it is not that bad. It really is pretty interesting...dont write it off as "just another low carb diet"..its not..its different than that...its worth a try..if you have been struggling for so long and trying so hard, what do you have to lose? I lost 25 lbs on it last year and will probably go on it again at some point...it is a life long thing..it gives you three steps, step 1 is to rest your body and give it a chance to recover from carbs (you can still have unlimited veggies (some are restricted), cheese, protein etc..), then step 2 slowly re-introduces more carbs to your diet so your body can handle them correctly without over-reacting, then step 3 is the life phase...
It really is interesting..pick it up and read it..it just might be what you are looking for!0 -
I wish I knew the answer for you. I'm trying to eat more fiber and protein to keep myself full and that seems to help. I gave up chocolate for Lent, so that is helping at this point in time. Stress also has an effect on weight loss. I know it's hard because we are all so busy, but I've been trying to make sure I have some downtime just for myself each day. It may be 10 minutes or an hour, but I need that time to relax! Hang in there!0

I don't know you at all, but I will tell you that I have had similar weight loss problems in the past. I finally picked the book "God Loves Ugly" by Christa Black, and I was totally set free from a mentality that was actually preventing me from losing weight. Christa struggled with her weight for years, and she shares her journey of how she eventually (in a completely healthy, natural way) lost all the weight. I highly recommend it!0

I have been above my calorie goals about 100 calories, which has been frustrating. I eat healthy whole wheat pasta, veggies, fruit, more veggies. It seems like I am always hungry. Then I will break down and say it doesn't matter anyway and eat a bag of reese's mini cups. Not the best way to deal...but you know how it is. I am trying to work out, but have not been very motivated. I am running about 6 miles a week and I do just dance probably for 90 a week. I am doing more than I was before, and I just am feeling low because I haven't seen any results.
I do think that stress has been a problem. I am going to try to work on that. Thank you for the book suggestion. I also want to try to read a copy of "Made to Crave"0
