And start worrying about your fitness.

If you change your mindset from "I've got to lose weight" to "I've got to get fitter" you will:

- feel better and happier
- make it less daunting to achieve
- probably make better choices with food
- increase your cardio strength

and most importantly
- lose weight without the hassle of worrying about it.

:) Train on my friends!

Not to mention, while getting more fit, you can be in smaller clothes and be substantially healthier while the scale doesn't always reflect that accurately and if you are obsessed with just the numbers, you are more likely to get frustrated and stressed out, which causes a lot of people to give up. Celebrate every little victory because each of those little ones adds up to a much bigger one overall! :)

I couldn't agree more! I used to be one of those people who would get unmotivated if I gained a pound or only lost a little.
But now that I've changed my attitude, I'm feeling much more motivated to get fit rather than lose weight. I rarely weigh myself now, instead I get happy when I can see and feel the changes in my body. Seeing that I'm more toned and being able to do longer amounts of time of cardio and strength training.

I know its difficult to change your mindset - your mind is probably stronger than your body right now. BUT it's another "trick" to challenge your mind's strength and staying positive and starting to get active is the key!

Nothing should be a drastic change - drastic changes are usually difficult to maintain. But if you can start thinking simple things like "i'm too overweight to climb the stairs - I'll take the lift" to "I think I want to see how far I can get up the stairs today" you are on the track of a winner straight away!

I agree with you sooooooooooooo much. Ever since I started to workout and realize how much my endurance has gone up I am just glad I am getting more fit! I dont get tired out like I use to.

This is been my mindset all along. It keeps me happy with my progress. Even when I'm not losing, I know I'm getting stronger and healthier. I can run further and faster. I can do more reps when doing strength training. Hold poses better in pilates. Bend further in yoga. Every week is a victory, no matter what's happening on the scale!

If this was just about vanity or a number on the scale, I'd have felt defeated and quit months ago. But it's not, so I haven't.
