I have gotten to the point now where I have plateaued and it is discouraging me. I dont wanna workout I dont wana run I dont wanna eat the way I should. I figure I am stuck at my current wt and maybe loose a half pound. This in turn makes me feel like going for the last few is a lost cause. I am feeling just about depressed over it and I need a few encouraging words from my dear friends please help me get going again!!!!!

Joni you are looking so awsome. Take a couple of days off and pig out then hit it hard again next week. YOu might be surprised, your body might just need a break and some extra calories to jump start your weight lose again. {{{hug}}} Get to feeling better, you are so close.

Don't give up. I know it is hard, but look how far you have come and accomplished. I am with Anna Banana, give your self a break then get back to it. This was about changing the way we live, not about dieting. So eat maintenance calories for a few days so you don't gain anything, then cut back again and hit the road. Remember nothing good is ever easy.

    Hey kiddo,
We have all been there. This is where the rubber meets the road. If you give up now, in six months, you'll just be six months longer away from your goal. Hang in there. Let us know what we can do to help.

  • Dear FitJoani,

I TOTALLY DISAGREE with the first two people to post a reply to this board.

DONT stop and take a break because its only going to set you back and make it that much harder to get to your ultimate goal.

NOT that taking a break is a bad thing, but I wouldnt recommend taking a break when you are blue and feeling hopeless because most likley its going to be hard for you to focus on eating healthy when you dont feel like there is any point in it..

And once you stray on the eating healthy its SUPER SUPER SUPER hard to get back to, I know from personal experience.

    *** My Advice: ***

Go look in the mirror.. take a good look at everything you want to change about your body..
then go take a HOT STEAMY bubble bath and remind yourself that YOU ARE WORTH IT and you CAN overcome ANYHING.. even a minor plateau..
Why? Because you are STRONG and you DESERVE to be happy.

I hope you feel better. I kinda feel that way now and have been slacking on the exercise (food is still good)

What has happened is I made a bad situation worse. I had to stop this weekend and look in the mirror. I saw someone who is getting toned, who is strong. My face is coming back. My back is strong. My legs are thinner. I LIKED WHAT I SAW!!

Can you do this? Cuz I am looking at your pix and you are one hot momma!!

The fact is, sometimes your body needs rest. You are so close & you have done SUCH a good thing for your body, but it might just be tired, like Anna said. We're not saying take a week or a month off...just take a day or two off. It is difficult, but you have accomplished SO much already that after a measly little 48 hours, you'll be right back up & kicking. Maybe another thing you would want to try is a different exercise routine. Sometimes just chaning which turbo jam dvd I do kicks my body back into gear. You look awesome & I bet you feel a lot better than you did just a short time ago, too. Don't give up, girl!

    You can do it!!!
