This just seems really wrong....but thats what my scale is telling me. I know im retaining water from TOM, but it doesn't seem like this happens every time I have TOM....Advice, Suggestions? I work out 6 days a week cardio 45 mins to an hour. Keep net cals around 1200 -1500, and strength train 3x / week.

I'm always up 3-4 pounds during TOM. Don't worry it will go back down. Hang in there and try not to give into cravings for sugar and salty stuff. That's the hardest!0

For me, I typically gain right at 5lbs around TOM. It's FRUSTRATING..but happens to the best of us0

I can gain 2-5lbs during that week, and it usually takes about 5 days after it ends for the weight to come back off. It's annoying because I have no clue how I really am doing for 1-2 weeks out of a month.0

Yep, happens to me too.0

happens to me too. 4-5 pounds each month. Just keep at it, when TOM is gone you will see it go away....sometime more!0

I usually gain 4-6 lbs during my TOM. It is normal and it sucks.0

happens every month for me! It always goes back down in a few days, so I don't worry about it. It's the week before TOM that I worry about, because that is when the cravings hit me! LOL0

Midol helps with water retention.0

I totally agree. It seems like about 10 days where my true weight readings are off. I try to use the bad numbers to push harder, even though I know it is water weight.0 -
Thanks for all the replies!!! Good to know Im not completely crazy!0

I don't consistently gain water weight during TOM either. It seems like once every few months I'll have a really bad time of it and bloat ridiculously, but then the next month will be perfectly fine with minimal weight gain. I think it probably happens to everyone.
I do enjoy the week AFTER TOM when it seems like my weight loss is even higher (water weight + actual loss), lol.
Us girls have it rough.0
