Ok i'm new and I've been reading through the forums and not seen an answer to my question so here goes. First off I know this isn't a diet it's a change of lifestyle but calorie counting seems very simlar to the weight watchers diet (so many points in a day, foods equal points) but on the weight watchers diet you can save daily points for say a night out. Example, say you get 21 points a day and you don't use 5 you can added them on to another day that you maybe going out and would need those extra points. I was wondering if you can do the same with this. Say on Monday I save 200 calories and use them on the Friday. Can you do that?

Similar to calorie cycling...whch some people are for and some against. It's a personal choice really. I don't see the harm in it if after the entire week you didnot consume more than your weekly allowance. You will find different things work for you and not someome else. Try it. See what hppens. Most likely no harm will be done as long as you make reasonable choices,0

Yes, you can do that. It's called calorie zig-zagging, and can actually help in your weight loss, because it confuses your metabolism by not letting it get into a pattern where it always knows now much food is coming and therefore being able to adjust/slow down.0

Not sure about how weight watchers is now, but you could never save your points from day to day. You had 35 points that you could use in the week, either by dividing them up daily or saving them for a big day/night out. If you had 21 points, you could not use some of them the next day. They were gone.
This site doesn't have that - but the way you can get extra calories is to exercise. Exercise is considered more on this site than weight watchers. With WW, if I exercised for an hour, I got about 3 points for that. In reality I burn about 700 - 1000 calories doing Zumba for an hour, which is a lot more than 3 points. This system is much better. You calso don't have to figure out how many points a food is - you can simply look at the calories and know what it is.0 -
Umm I've wondered the same thing, is it a good idea or bad to save back calories if I know I’ve an occasion coming up? Yes I want to loose weight, be healthy and fit but I also want to be able to "let my hair down" so to speak and go out on a Saturday night and have fun with my friends. I figure its best to keep some calories back each day that week for when I go out. A few weeks ago I didn’t so I thought okay don’t eat much during the day I’ll keep my calories for my drinks….
Bad idea, 1st drinking alcohol on an empty stomach makes you easily and very tipsy!! 2nd I’d some hangover the next day.  All self inflicted I know, but lesson learnt! :bigsmile:0 -
It's been years since I did weightwatchers but my instructor always told us that we could save our points like that, maybe that was what they did at the time or maybe a uk thing not 100% sure but looking through the posts so far think I'm going to do a mix of exercising and calorie saving to get extra calories for a night out
