High Heart Rate - Help with Calories Burned

I'm one of those fortunate people who has a high heart rate when I exercise. My HR is normal at resting, but once I work out...it's not difficult to get to 185 and I can still have a "moderate" conversation.

Here's my question.....with HR monitors and other calculators that estimate calories burned.....does anyone know if a higher heart rate makes these calculations inaccurate?

Thanks for any help!!!

I have no idea, but I'm right there with you. I have a very high resting heart rate, though, and I used my HRM for the first time this morning...it didn't cooperate very well, but it may have been because something was set a little off.

I wonder this too...my personal trainer is always telling me that when you feel like you can't go on, that's when you will really start to change your body if you just keep going...but though I have a low resting heart rate, my heart rate gets up in the 190s after only running a mile or two, and when it gets to 200 I can't help but take a break, because the heart rate monitor basically is telling me my heart should be exploding any given time. I've always wondered how hard to push myself and whether HRMs are accurate in these sort of circumstances.
