Just stopped in to say a quick hello - I joined this site last week and this is my first post here.

A little about me:

I currently weigh 278 pounds and my goal is to weigh 180 within a year. Not too long ago, I weighed over 300, so I've lost about 30 pounds within the last few months....

I'm a semi-professional musician (saxophone, piano and guitar) and recently graduated from college with a degree in Business Administration. I have a golden retriever (Tuco) and a Persian cat (Peaches). I'll be 39 this August.....

I'm originally from Maine, but have lived in Atlanta for most of my life (and love the south). In my spare time I enjoy woodworking, exercising and fly fishing. I'm single and am active in my local church (Lutheran).

    Hi you made a good choice and joing this site! Of all the ones I have been on this is the best by far!! I have only just begun here as well but loving every minute of it. So many motivators and good advice as well! Way to go on your weight loss so far! 30 lbs is a huge accomplishment!!! Keep up the hard work, it will be so rewarding in the end!     tucothedog, how are you doing this evening? Welcome to MFP. It's a wonderful place that will help you achieve your weight-loss goal of 180 pounds. You should fill out your profile by telling the world a little about yourself, why you wanna drop weight, and list your inspirations. By filling out your profile it sets your accomplishments in stone. It gives you something to shoot for on a daily basis. Besides, it seems to me that the people that take the time to fill out their profiles also take the time to lose the weight because the journey doesn't happen over night. Good luck.

    As far as how I'm doing this evening - I went to a church function tonight and had some foods I probably shouldn't have had. I still met my daily goal, but barely....

    Anyways, it's good to be here. Looking forward to making many new friends!
