Hi there,
Im only quite new at this and still trying to figure everything out, I have been walking everynight plus other exercises at home and this week burnt 400 calories more than my goal, im also finding it really ahrd to eat my 1700 calories a day and am sometime left over with a Mars bars worth :S
is this a bad thing, and should i eat more calories as im burning them off?? or is it ok >

If it fits in, use it! I was WAY under my calorie goal last night, but didn't want to make it a habit (and was not hungry at all) so instead of eating a lot of healthy stuff to make the goal, I had room on my chart for a peanut butter sandwich. It was good!0

I don't think you should eat, just because you are under your calorie goal. Maybe your body is fine with that.0

A good way to get the extra calories in is to add a but of the good oils to your cooking e.g olive oil or just try to increase the size of your meal portions a little at each meal.0

Hi,
Its ok to not eat every calorie, you will lose weight staying a little bit under your calorie goal.. Just make sure when you are eating throughout the day that your getting all of your food groups in.. I go to mypyramid.gov, put my info in and it tells you how many servings of each food group you should have everyday( healthy eating). Its ok to stay under just dont go crazy low with it. This is just my opinion and it works for me. Good luck:)0 -
Jmo but I try not to eat back my calories unless I have something special going on. I am working with a dietician and she said that the 1200 cals that I'm alotted already take into account the exercise. Best of Luck to you and I hope that you find the motivation from this site that I have!:flowerforyou:0

its ok to be a lil under ur calorie needs...and it is always better to keep away from chocolates and other junk coz it becomes a habbit. healthy calories are always better than unhealthy ones though they say a calorie is a calorie is a calorie.0

I confess that I am not exercising that much so I am pretty much taking 1200 / 1300 cals per day (I walk daily and try to eat those calories back)
However I am so set as to eating between 12/1300 cals that when I do work-out I struggle to eat my exercise calories...
I know when I am eating too little though, as I feel very tired and low in energy so i kind of try to listen to my body!0 -
I am not sure about your kcal goal, but when I started I was 83 kg and my goal was to lose 1.5 pounds a week and I was on 1220 kcal a day. I also walked daily and that earned be about 124 kcal which I always ate - on days I didn't walk I always went over my calories because I was too hungry. But I lost around 8kg in 3 months. (give or take a few weeks when I was on vacation or a business trip and wasnt really watching what I was eating)
So it just seems weird that your kcal goal is 1700 kcal. That is more than my maintenance goal will be if I ever make it to 67 kg.0 -
