My husband and I joined the site together. Just wondering if there are any other spouses doing this journey together? Here is our story, please friend us karenvonw and kvonwolf and tell us your story. We can all be a support to each other!
My dad died in December of last year. My husband and I are planning a trip to Mexico next year in April to spread some of his ashes on the beach. He loved the beach! He always worried about my weight and my self esteem. He worried about my husband's weight and making sure that he would be here for a long time for me and our son. So, we decided that since this will be our first trip to Mexico and it is to honor my dad we should make him proud by looking good, feeling good, and being healthy when we get to the beach. We are calling it "The Mexico Bikini Project". lol. We need all the support we can get. I have 60 pounds to lose and my husband has 100 pounds to lose. We can do This!!!

I'm so excited for you and your husband on this journey! You can do it - what a great support system we have here. I've been here since Jan 14th and just adore my friends and the awesome community. I am not doing this with my husband - he's pretty fit and doesn't need to lose a lb, but I am doing this partly for him.......of course for me first - but he will for sure (and already has) benefit from it.

Both you and your hubby can friend me - and look through my awesome list of friends.......it's great here, you'll fit in just fine! Welcome!

*edit to add - look through my awesome list of friends and add them, lol (not just look thru them haha)

My husband and I are doing this together now too. I enrolled him a while back but he never got into it. Finally yesterday he decided it was time. It is making me much more motivated. He started working out again just this past Saturday but we are both already happier and our energy levels are up. We are enjoying our time together more since we have so little of it and we don't seem to get annoyed. We do not have a story like yours...but we want to be healthy together and to live a long, happy life. I think people are happier when they feel good about themselves. I am surprising him with a HRM today that I ordered him to show that I'm proud of him and what he's doing. Feel free to add him and I...he is goose619.

Thy hubby has joined the weight loss journey with me however not on this site. We exercise together when we can and we both participate with the healthier cooking. Good luck to you both!

happy you are doing it as a couple, My wife and i started in Dec 2010, join a gym, i got her a personal trainer for 12 sesions so she can learn the equipment and the right way to do things. i have to lose 20 pounds and she has to lose 50 pounds, we use this site to track our food intake and exercise...THIS IS OUR TIME AND OUR LIFE that has to be fixed so that we can continue our adventure together which started when i was 20 and she 21..we are now 56 and 57..use your father as motivator..then move on and use yourselfs...

My husband and I are doing it too, but as with the others, he's not chatty. He likes to keep everything private. He is even
thinking of defriending ME so i can't see his progress. LOL i don't think he wants me to see what he eats during the day.
It also doesn't help that I work out much harder, more often, get less calories, and can't lose a damn thing, and I swear he loses a pound or 2 every time he weighs in. That sucks!!!! Maybe he just doesn't want me to sneer at him till i get over being pissed about that. hehehe

Did someone say Call of Duty???

Sorry for your loss, but it looks to me like your father gave you a gift with his passing. I think it's great that you guys are doing this!!
My wife isn't on the site, but has been very supportive of the sometimes RADICAL changes we've made in our family diet. I'm stuck at home rehabbing my leg/back and she's at work a lot of the time, but so far MFP has been a Godsend to me. Feel free to friend me, the more support, the better!!

Welcome to MFP. It's a cool site and very helpful. My wife (hootsmamma) and I are doing this together to create a lifestyle change that will last. Feel free to friend us and let us know how we can support you guys. It really helos to have someone to lean on and to help motivate and be excited with. I have 135# to go and my wife has just about 100# and we are confident that this site will be the key that helps us make the shift to a healthy new us. Sorry to hear about your dad. Good luck and stay focused.

Okay I totally forgot I was on my wifes site looking up something for her, so it was actually her husband writing which is why is says her wife. So she has 100 and I have 135 to go. Must be time to turn off computer and go to sleep.
