How to track exercise w/ Body Media Fit

Hello,
I just started using a Body Media Fit yesterday, and I'm curious as to how to track exercise properly on here now. According to my workout manager on the Fit, I burned 379 calories doing an hour of P90 Sculpt 3-4 and treadmill work. If I plug in an hour of circuit training on MFP, it says I would have burned almost 900 calories. I know the MFP is just a guess, but I am curious as to how accurate the Fit is for estimating exercise calories. I would hate to start over/under eating by using the wrong estimations.
Thanks!

Your BMF is WAY more accurate than MFP. That's what BMF/BB are designed for; accurate count of calories burned throughout the day, including exercise. You can also compare your daily calorie burn vs. calories eaten for an accurate deficit and adjust accordingly.0

I'd definitely go with your Bodymedia. I have one as well, and there are some things that overestimate calories and that's a bummer, but some underestimate so then it's a win! Maybe just focus on getting your heart rate up! Good luck!0

I have been looking for a more accurate calories burned calculator , MFP is always WAY off from my elliptical or my pedometer..I may try BMF for that~0

Remember this very important tip about MFP. It is not a guess. It is an educated estimate based on your height and weight and assuming that you put forth the MAXIMUM effort aka were at your target calorie burning heart rate the entire time from start to finish.
A monitor will provide you with more accurate results because it tracks every change of your heart rate, which affects your caloric burn.
To track it on MFP, just put in the minutes and then manually change the number of calories burned.0 -
Thanks everyone for the ideas! I just found out by playing around on the Activity Manager that you can change the sliders in the calories burned chart to just show the periods you were working out to get the total amount burned. Nifty!0

I still wear my HRM for workouts even with my BMF and I find that the two numbers are pretty similar. And neither match the machines or MFP. So I'd say trust your BMF.0
