My husband wants to buy a Wii Fit today.....
What can y'all tell me about it? What does it do? Someone said that the board thingy that comes with it is also a scale.....is that true?

I weigh in every week on my Wii fit.0

the wii fit has a range of exercises and games on there - each user builds up time spent on each and this then unlocks new things
i think my board is broken though - i used it to weigh myself jsut before heading to my doctors (like 10 minutes before) and the wii fit board said a completely different weight to my doctors scales - am talking almost a stone different....
now i always check my scales are callibrated properly0 -
Yes it is a scale...I love my Wii fit...it makes exercise fun...although I have heard that the PS3 Kinnect is much more accurate with movements...I'm not interested in buying another $350 game but since you don't already have a Wii you may want to go for the latest and greatest Kinnect. Go to Best Buy they have displays setup so you can play on it before purchasing. Good luck!0

I have a Wii and the Wii Fit game. It is a great way to exercise in the home. Yes the fit board serves as a scale as well. It is a great addition to your weight loss arsenal.0

Yep it's a scale! I love the Wii Fit!! It usually doesn't give you a whole lot of burn though unless you do it for a long time. But it's fun for a little addition to your weekly workouts0

I love our Wii Fit! I really consider it the thing that got the ball rolling on losing weight. My husband and I sometimes have little competitions to see who can get the highest score, and we always tease (jokingly) each other when one of us fail at a game.
It does measure weight, but I don't consider it to be the most reliable scale.0 -
Thanks. I already use the Wii for Just Dance and Wii Sports, but I wasn't sure about the Wii Fit......that's a lot of money to spend..lol0

I have Wii Fit and it is great. I also have the Kinect and love that more! You are the controller and you do the motions and can see yourself moving on tv. It's great! Some stores have it on display to try before you use it. Check it out first . I do love the Wii also though. Bought Jenny McCarthy's exercise and it comes with webcam which also shows you moving. Not as great as Kinect but it works . Yes, the Wii fit balance board is also a scale. It will monitor your weighloss. Hope this helps!0

I used my Wii fit today! I love it because there are so many different things you can do. There are aerobic exercises, pilates type stuff, balance, strength training, and then fun wii fit stuff. It is also a scale. It wasn't accurate with my old scale that I had for years, but I bought a new scale and it is right on with it. I love doing the step aerobics, and boxing, and the obstacle course, and the hula hooping on mine! Hope you enjoy yours if you get it! The Wii board will also work with other games.....Like EA Sports and most skateboard and snowboard games!0

If you are looking for a wii game that is a work out I LOVE EA sports active and EA active 2 (I would recommend this one if you can only buy one) It is way more of a workout than wii fit AND you can always weigh yourself on the scale. I also think that the wii fit is kind of depressing as it moans every time I step on the scale and makes my mii incredibly fat!! EA active I can be the skinny chick I want to be at the end of this journey!! I think whoever created the wii should have thought about the mental aspect of those two features. Just my two cents ;-) EA ACTIVE ALL THE WAY0
