Awesome - I really needed to hear that this week! Started ChaLean Extreme 2 weeks ago and have seen a slight increase in the scale and although I know I shouldn't get upset about slight increases if I am eating correctly and working out, it still really got bummed about it. Hopefully like Chalene said, I will start to see some good losses in the next two weeks.
Thanks for the article!0 -

I gained 3lbs overnight when I started P90X and I'm only following the lifting/resistance part of it. It took a month before I went back to normal and I have even dropped a bit (but that changes on a daily basis since I am at a healthy weight range - it's just not realistic to think your weight will be an exact number every day).
Thanks for putting some real and truthful information out there.0 -
3-4lbs? Try SIX! Overnight! And it took about a week to get it off (I didn't stop working out daily so I was re-injuring until I started to get used to it). :-D0

Thank you for the article. I always wondered why I gained weight after I started exercising, and now I know. Now I won't let that gain discourage me.0

Great article! Natural inflammation is the reason I like to use glutamine powder after intense workouts. It helps to reduce the inflammation naturally and rapidly while actively helping to heal and restore torn muscle tissue.0

This is great! And by Chalene...my FAVORITE workout diva ever! lol I'm doing TurboFire and while I basically knew most of this...it's a wonderful reminder! Thank you for posting this!0

oh my goodness, thank you so much for this!0

Thank you! I've tried looking this up, asked a personal trainer and other friends, and no one ever had a good explanation (other than working out makes you hungry, so you eat more, and have unintended gain, which I knew was not the case). This has caused me to lose motivation so many times! What's the point in pushing myself and starting new habits if the results are negative?
Such a good explanation, and good to remember in all efforts from now on!0 -

It's physically impossible to gain 3-6 lbs in one night. You do have fluctuation. I've gained 4 lbs in one day and lost it the next day doing nothing.0

I feel so much better after reading this. I got all bent out of shape when the scale told me I gained 3 pounds after all my jogging.0

Its so true. when i first started working out after having my baby, I rode my stationary bike in addition to MFP and WW for 5 days the first week and only lost 1lb when i had originally been losing 4-6lbs. Makes snse but its very annoying!!0
