Almost two years and what a journey

I was over 500 lbs when I finally was strong enough to do what I had to do. This morning I weighed 199lbs that means I have lost well over 300 lbs, I feel 20 years younger. I mo longer have any blood pressure, high cholesterol or the other co-morbidities that go with morbid obesity. I did pay the price of ruining my knees. I had the first one replaced 3 weeks ago and because I have gotten myself in such great shape it has gone very well. I will get the other one replkaced in about 4 months.

I did a gastric bypass to help me learn how to eat. I made massive changes in my lifestyle including daily 1-1.5 hr workouts. My new lifestyle is eat right and exercise.

The evil food demons are still there and sometimes they win small scirmishes. However, I am now willing and prepared to win the war.

Awesome! Keep it up. Don't worry about the occasional indulging. You have to enjoy life. Just limit them and make sure you make up for it with exercise and being under your goal for the other days.

Wow - wow and wow - Congratulations - what a journey!! You look fantastic - just shows even with dodgy knees you can lose the weight - so many people just use these things as excuses rather than turning it to a positive...

  • Funny story, about thre weeks ago my wife and I went to Walmart to get a few things for my hospital stay. She went across the store and when she came back she walked right past me. I say she was not paying attention, but she says she did not see me.
