I use a HRM and added it to my exercises.0

I was just researching the same thing. I saw everything from high impact aerobics, to general dancing. But I think I am going to go with ballroom dancing - fast. Because if you google Zumba, there are a lot of ballroom dance studios that offer it as a class and every single description reads fast paced! Good luck!0

I wear a heart monitor, so I know it is between 500-600 cals/hour. But before I got one, I was estimating 500/hour. So I was pretty close.0

It's normally about 500 calories. That's what i use for when i go to Zumba. Could be more though just depends how much you go for it i guess :] I hope this helps.0

When I go to an hour long class and really really work hard and keep bouncing around, I burn about 800 calories! So it's def a good calorie burner as long as you really push yourself (rather than just shuffle!). When I do it at home it's about 600 calories.0

I did an hour this morning and burned 738 calories (or something close). For an hour, you're better to estimate 600 if you keep your heart rate up the entire time. Most of my close friends in my classes wear an HRM, and I don't know anyone who's under 600 and that's including if they take it a little easier.0

I use a HRM and for a 50 minute class, I usually burn between 375 and 500 calories - depending on how hard I work and the intensity of the songs in the class.0

I'm 4'11 and weigh between 108-112. This morning I burned 561 and I teach the class so I know the moves and go all out Amount burned is gonna depend on your height, weight, how much effort you put into it, the playlist of the class, etc. Every class is different and every person is different. Getting an HRM is gonna be your best bet It's been my best investment!
Oh and one of my students who is about 5'4 said she burned 700 and something calories, just for a reference.0
