Worked my butt off and feel guilty...

For eating my exercise calories back. Eating them back is new to me, so I'm scared of what could possibly happen to my weight. (I ate my exercise calories back two or three times this past week too.) Today I burned 1380 calories. I think that's the most I've ever burned in a day. I did 34 minutes of stair climbing, and I did P90X Cardio X twice (so 86 minutes). I've eaten 2300 calories today... Or would it be yesterday now? Lol... And, apparently, still have 300-something left. I'm not hungry, so I don't plan on eating anymore, but how do I get rid of this guilty feeling? It's killing me to know that I ate 2300 calories when I normally eat 1400-1500. I finally broke my plateau again, and now I'm worried that tomorrow morning I'll be back where I started last week. So scared. :ohwell:

You have lost 126 lbs. I don't think you have anything to worry about. It's just your metabolism. The more you work out, the more calories your body burns.

Are you using a HRM with a chest strap? If not you will probably be eating to many calories. Machines & this site are usually not accurate, and are high. I also read the nutritional packaging is not always accurate and can be off by 20-40%

I don't think you should feel guilty, if you have burned them off, then they need replacing (at least some of them). As long as you are still on a deficit calorie diet, it should be okay. If you hadn't eaten them back, and only ate 1400 calories, your body would have been running on about 20 calories net for the day! From all I have read and learned since being on here that is pretty dangerous, and not a safe thing to be doing long term!

I have learned quite a lot from these posts:

I eat my exercise calories every chance I get. I have consistently lost weight (although it is getting much slower, I am still losing)

Don't feel down on yourself, good gosh no. You work hard, you need to replenish your body.

I have a Garmin FR60 and it usually says I've burned MORE than what MFP and machines say...maybe because I weigh so much as it is? I've always heard the more you weigh, the more calories you burn.

Wow. First off, Way to go on the work outs!
I personally wouldn't feel guilty. Think of it this way, Calories = Fuel and it sounds like you used up a lot of fuel for your work outs today! If you didn't replenish yourself, you would be completely drained and worn out. I've done it before where I felt like hell after working out and not 're-fueling' myself. I just ended up burning into my 1200 intake for the day. Trust me, first time I did this, I will never do it again. I hated feeling weak and sick to my stomach.

Also, don't forget your myfitnesspal.com calorie allowance is already giving you your 300-500 calorie disallowance. You don't want to take away more than 500 at a time(you don't want your body to go into 'starvation mode' http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/David13.html), that's why they add the calories back into your allowance when you burn them.
You should be fine! :) Keep it up.

My HRM always say I burn more, so its not because you weigh more. Im only 120

I eat my maintainance cals but not my exercise cals unless I'm hungry. Your body will let your know what to do, if u are eating and your not hungry stop. If you are then eat, its not just about getting those cals in but getting those cals to be quality so your body can metabolise them more efficiently. Our bodies are machine fuel them only when u feel its needed stop when its full.
