I just wanted to know some thoughts on "Clean Eating Recharged" by Tosca Reno.
Do you still measure and weigh all of your food?
How many calories do you consume daily/do you even track the number calories consumed?
Do you feel satisfied?

I have always eaten pretty clean and healthy but I'm finding that the 1200 plus whatever exercise I do isn't cutting it as far as calories go. I feel like a slave to my calorie counting. I won't even let myself eat an apple for fear of going over but then I turn around and eat a bunch of dark chocolate...wtf? I have 15 pounds that I want to lose. I have my goals set at 2 pounds because I want this weight to come off fast but I also want to feel satisfied so I can stop this NASTY habit! Any thoughts from anyone that does follow this is appreciated! I plan on picking up my copy tomorrow, I just wanted a little insight first

I usually eat the 1200 calories, but on days when I workout hard....and I'm hungry I eat more, like 1400 or so.

    Tooo fast nikki,

From you pict doesn't look like you've got a lot to lose and it's healthier to lose more slowly.
Think for the long term you'll be more likely to maintain if you take it off slowly.

When my 1 lb/wk goal of 1290 was stressing me I gave myself a range

1200 as the bottom, 1290 as my target and my maintain GOAL weight at the top of my range.
turns out I couldn't do more than 3 or 4 days in the 1200-1300 range. I throw a 1400-1500 day in there a couple of times a week. And I still stayed on or close to schedule for my lose 1 lb a week. And I didn't feel like a failure!!!!! which as really helped me stick with this.

10 lbs away from my goal and went do to lose a1/2 lb/week so I get more calories but my range is smaller. (1200 my rock bottom) but I shoot for between 1440 my target and maintain Goal is the top.

Keep it healthy and good luck

Nikki I agree with auntie babs. I set mine at 1 lb / week.
It gives me more flexibility. I do usually lose more then a lb a week.
But it gives me more cals to eat so I don't ever feel restricted. I can always eat less if I am not feeling hungry.
You don't have much to lose and I think changing from 2 lbs to 1 lb will actually give you better results!
Try it and see. Let me know if I am right?
You are definitely putting in the effort! Keep it up!
    :-)

I guess I'm just in too much of a hurry and impatient...lol...I like to see results fast but I know that it took me over a year to gain this weight from quitting smoking and I need to realize that it may just take me that long to get it off. I hate calorie counting, I hate measuring. I've never had to do it before! I feel frustrated by it and I feel restricted. It then backfires on me because mentally I feel like I'm not going to follow those rules, I'm going to just do whatever I want...lol...that's the bad *kitten* in me coming out! hahaha I'm going to change my goals and then see if that changes anything for me or perhaps I'll just listen to my body over the next week and see where that takes me.

ur post sounds like something straight out of my brain, lol. i actually just ordered her book and it should be here this week. ive skimmed thru my friends and have heard great things about the author. ive just recently became interested in eating "clean" although, like you i eat rather healthy 90% of the time. and the whole "apple to dark chocolate" scenario....that was me last night, lol...and with those two things too. so heres my plan...im gonna continue to slowly replace some of the things in my fridge/pantry with "clean" choice, continue my 1200 goal (although ive been struggling somedays and going over), and get my butt back in the gym consistently and plan on eating half of my exercise cals back. i guess its trial and error...which sucks cuz i like fast results too! and when i dont see them i sabotage myself, lol...let me know how it goes for you. i have the same goal too...15lbs, which seem like they will never come off! : ) good luck!
