hi everyone, i'm looking for a new pair of shoes and need some recommendations. i have gigantic wide feet (i wear an 11W) and high arches. can anyone recommend a good pair (or brand) of shoes? i mostly go to the gym but i would also like to be able to wear them for outside sports (walking, jogging) and biking (my bike doesn't have clips).

thanks!

I wear Brooks and I LOVE them. You can get fitted at a running store or at any store that carries them. Then you can go online and get them for like half price. They're a moderately priced shoe and good for gym work as well as outdoor sports.

    Bump.

I have big feet too my doc recommended New Balance but I have yet to buy a pair.
  • While I don't have big feet, my surgeon recommended New Balance and I've been swearing by them ever since. It's easy to add orthotics or other soles to their shoes as needed for extra/less support as needed.

Hey hunnie, I have super wide feet as well :) I used to use newbalance...but then I found Ascis. I ran for my HSTrack team and they worked wonders. Any model of asics gives you fab support, and even though I'm a W...the M fit nicely :D try them out :)
  • Go to a good running store. Have them check you out for pronation as well as walking style. They can get you fitted up for just the right shoe. I wear Brooks Beasts... After buying a pair from my local running store, I bought subsequent pairs from an online supplier. I will go back later this year to get fitted and see if there are any changes.

Also, remember that running/walking shoes need to be replaced more often than you think. The rule of thumb I keep hearing is 6 months... Makes me crazy, because my shoes cost almost $100... so I look for "last year's style" discontinued.

    Good luck.
  • I LOVE my Nike Frees!!! they are so light you dont even feel like you have shoes on!! I have never really liked running shoes but these have me hooked
