So if I have a snack past midnight, or if i have a night on the town dancing or walk home from the bar at 2am, do I log it on the previous day since it feels like an extension of that day? Or do I log it for the day it actually falls on? The end of the day for me is when I go to sleep so I sort of feel like I'm cheating if I log it for the next day...I'm always up late so this has been a dilemma for me!

I consider the day ended when I go to sleep so I put the stuff that falls past midnight in the previous day. I think it is all just a matter of what you like though...

I log everything until I fall asleep, whether that's 10 pm or 3 am. . 3 am is still the day before for me, if I haven't gone to bed yet.

I also log everything until I go to sleep. When I wake up, it's a new day!

This was a dilemma for me too, since I work midnights. I found myself forgetting to back up a day and logging things on the wrong day, etc. And, on my daysb off, sometimes I'm awake for 18-24 hours. So, I altered my settings from breakfast lunch... to blocks of time. I start at midnight and bring it back around. It simplifies things for me since most days I actually eat after midnight.

I'm another "sleep to sleep" logger. The only downside to doing it that way is that when you close your diary after midnight it doesn't post to your friends newsfeeds so you may miss out on some feedback.

I work overnights 10p to 6am, therefore log from when I wake up till I go to sleep. I keep the same schedule on my off days. Good luck

thanks for the input everyone! I've generally been logging sleep to sleep so I'll just stick to doing it that way

I agree with the wake to sleep method, I work 3rd shift and that works out the best for me.
